We say things in the heat of the moment. I think we've all done it. We are human, after all. We're not proud of it, and we can justify it to ourselves if our feelings somehow change. But let someone else hurt us, or take back their words that they have promised, and we are ready to throw them into the middle of a bonfire. It's devastating to think that at one time someone felt an emotion deeply enough to look you in the eyes and promise you forever.. and then reneged.
